Rajya Sabha former member T.G. Venkatesh expressed happiness over the government’s decision to establish a High Court Bench in Kurnool. He was speaking at an event organised by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Legal Cell to felicitate him.

Mr. Venkatesh said the people of the district had been demanding the High Court Bench for the past 20 years. When the State was bifurcated, they wanted the High Court to be established in Kurnool.

He slammed the previous government for its double standards on the issue. It had promised to establish the High Court in Kurnool but later told the Supreme Court that it did not have any plan for shifting the HC to Kurnool.

He hailed the incumbent government for taking the initiative to set up the Bench in Kurnool.

Mr. Venkatesh was all praises for his son and Minister for Industries and Commerce T.G. Bharath for raising the issue in Cabinet meetings and also for Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for taking a positive decision on the issue.

The former MP said the efforts of Mr. Bharath had resulted in fulfilling of the aspirations of the people.
