Frustrated over son’s murder, family attempts to end lives; police assure to trace the killers
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduFrustrated over the death of their 10-year-old son, the parents allegedly attempted to end their lives here on Thursday. On information, when some of the neighbours thwarted their attempt and informed the police, senior officers reached their home and explained to them the investigation conducted so far.
The parents had in a note mentioned that with their son being murdered by unidentified persons three days ago, they were psychologically upset and remained in a state of shock. “At least, if the killers were arrested, we would have known the reason. There cannot be any motive as we have no enemies”, a family member told media persons.
The victim, Karuppasamy (10) was found missing since Monday (December 9) and as the parents - Karthik Murugan and Balasundari- had gone to work, the grand mother who had come there alerted the family members. After a long search, they found him lying in an unconscious state on the terrace of a neighbour on Tuesday (December 10) morning. The doctors at the Government Hospital declared him brought dead. Kovilpatti West Police registered a murder for gain case as the gold chain worn by the boy was missing.
