Police team leaves for U.P. to probe techie suicide case

A special team from the Marathahalli police station was dispatched to Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday to investigate the suicide case of a 34-year-old deputy general manager of a tech company at his apartment on Monday morning.

Shivakumar Gunare, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Whitefield), said that based on the complaint filed by the deceased’s brother, the wife of the deceased and her family members have been booked under abetment to suicide . The complainant has alleged that the accused had filed multiple cases against him and family members and demanded money which led him to take the extreme step.

Atul Subhash from Uttar Pradesh was found dead at his apartment in Munnekollala on Monday. Subhash left behind a 40-page note and a video explaining his decision and detailing the allegations. A four page handwritten death note has been recovered from the apartment and taken for investigation.

The FIR charges Nikita Singhania, wife of the deceased, mother-in-law Nisha Singhania, brother-in-law Anuragh Singhania, and relative Sushil Singhania for allegedly seeking ₹3 crore to settle cases and humiliating, harassing, and forcing him to take the extreme step. The police will question the accused in the case and take legal action based on their statement, officials said.
