Avadi city police return recovered items to owners in 576 cases 

The Avadi City Police Commissioner K.Shankar on Wednesday handed over the recovered properties such as gold jewellery, and mobile phones in 576 criminal cases to the rightful owners/ complainants.

At the Police convention centre in S.M.Nagar, Thirumullaivoyal, police displayed the recovered properties in 576 the criminal cases booked by 24 police stations and cyber crime wings following complaints from the public. The recovered properties included 162 sovereigns of gold jewellery, 463 grams silver articles, cash Rs. 42 lakh, 487 mobile phones, two laptops, one Tab and one bike which were stolen from various places in the Avadi City Police limits. The total worth of properties is around Rs 1.81 crore.

Mr. Shankar personally distributed the recovered properties to the owners after due verification. He also said Rs 1.45 crore was retrieved from cyber crime cases such as online share trading scam, online part-time job and the money was credited back to the victims.
