Two arrested, MDMA pills seized in Vijayawada
Both the accused are hailing from Telangana
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduThe South Zone police of NTR Commissionerate arrested two persons, including a drug manufacturer, and seized five grams of MDMA pills from them, in Vijayawada.
South Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) U. Bangaru Raju told The Hindu on Thursday that acting on a tip-off, Krishnalanka police apprehended P. Srinivas Reddy hailing from Hyderabad, and N. Kishore of Vemsuru village in Khammam district of Telanagana, at the Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS) in Vijayawada.
Krishnalanka Circle Inspector S. Nagaraju said Srinivas Reddy, a drug manufacturer, was arrested twice earlier. A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 has been registered against the accused, the CI said.
“The police seized a car and the MDMA pills. The accused were produced before the court. A detailed investigation is under progress,” the ACP said.
