TDP-backed candidates elected unanimously to 18 water users’ committees in Vizianagaram district
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduThe elections for 395 water users’ committees were completed peacefully in Vizianagaram district, thanks to the efforts of the officials to complete the process without any scope for untoward incidents.
According to sources, the TDP-backed candidates were elected unanimously to a majority of the committees, as the opposition YSRCP showed little interest in the contest.
Collector B.R. Ambedkar, Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan, and SP Vakul Jindal coordinated the process at all places.
TDP Vizianagaram parliamentary wing president Kimidi Nagarjuna said that people reposed faith in the Chandrababu Naidu-led NDA government in the State.
Meanwhile, Srikakulam MLA Gondu Shankar also expressed happiness over the election of TDP-backed candidates in most of the places in Srikakulam district. He asked them to strive hard for the welfare of farmers in their respective areas.
