Former Commissioner of Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) P.S. Kantharaju appeared before the Lokayuka police in Mysuru on Thursday. The Lokayukta police, which has registered an FIR against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvathi and two others in connection with the alleged irregularities in the allotment of compensatory sites to Ms. Parvathi, had summoned Mr. Kantharaju.

Mr Kantharaju, who appeared before the Lokayukta police at the office of the Superintendent of Lokayukta police in Mysuru on Thursday, told reporters that he was asked about the decisions taken by MUDA during his tenure as Commissioner.

Mr. Kantharaj said he had informed the Lokayukta police about the decision taken by the MUDA Board on compensating Ms. Parvathi for the land acquired by the authority for developing the layout. He said he was unable to disclose anything more about the questions he was asked at the inquiry as the probe was still under way. “I have my limitations,” he told reporters.

It may be mentioned here that the Lokayukta police is inquiring into the allegations of irregularities in the allotment of 14 sites by MUDA to Ms. Parvathi in lieu of the 3 acres and 16 guntas of land belonging to her in Kesare on the outskirts of Mysuru that had been used by the authority to develop Devanur Layout.
