Woman, sons killed in road accident near Kancheepuram 

A woman and her two sons were killed in a road accident on Wednesday (November 27, 2024) near Kancheepuram when a container lorry hit the two-wheeler they were riding.

The deceased have been identified as A. Gajalakshmi 40, and her sons A. Madhan, 20, and A. Manoj, 18. Hailing from Ranipet district, the trio had come to Kancheepuram to attend a funeral, and the accident occurred when they were riding back home. Gajalakshmi and her sons are survived by her husband Arunachalam.

The lorry rammed their vehicle near Indira Nagar in Baluchetty Chatram. In the impact, all three were thrown to the ground, and the lorry ran over them. While Gajalakshmi and Madhan died on the spot, Manoj died at the hospital without responding to treatment.

The Baluchetty Chatram Police recovered the bodies and sent them for postmortem examination. Investigation is underway to trace the lorry driver who has absconded.
