An immigrant worker from Kuwait visited Annamayya district on Saturday (December 7, 2024) to brutally kill a 59-year-old physically disabled man for allegedly molesting his daughter.

The accused has been identified as Anjaneya Prasad (37) from Kothamangampeta village. The police got to know about the incident after the accused released a video message on a social media platform, claiming responsibility for the murder. In the video he also said that he committed the crime as the police did not take any action over the molestation complaint that was filed by Chandrakala, the girl’s mother.

Investigations revealed that Ms. Chandrakala and Mr. Prasad left for Kuwait as immigrant workers. The couple left their 12-year-old daughter behind under the care of Ms. Chandrakala’s younger sister Lakshmi and her husband Venkataramana. Mr. Prasad alleged that Mr. Venkataramana’s father Gutta Anjaneyulu (59), a physically disabled man, molested the girl.

The girl recently narrated the incident to her mother in Kuwait. Ms. Chandrakala rushed to the village and questioned her sister about the same and also filed a complaint with the police. The police issued a warning to the molester.

Irked over these developments, Mr. Prasad visited the village on Saturday (December 7) and killed Anjaneyulu with an iron rod. He immediately left the village and returned to Kuwait.

The police who rushed to the crime spot found no clues, and registered it as a “suspicious death.”

On Wednesday (Dec. 11) night, the accused from Kuwait released a video message claiming responsibility for the murder and sort justice for his daughter. Mr. Prasad also stated that he would surrender to the police.
