Central school celebrates foundation day in Military Cantonment area of Belagavi

Students present cultural programmes even as 25 former teachers of the school were felicitated

PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2 Belagavi Cantonment celebrated the 62nd Kendriya Vidyalaya Foundation Day with great enthusiasm in Belagavi on Sunday.

The event was marked by cultural performances, an exhibition and interactions between teachers, students and parents.

The programme began with felicitations to 25 former teachers of the school, recognizing their invaluable contribution to education.

Each teacher was honoured with a memento and shawl as a token of respect and gratitude.

The former teachers shared their experiences and inspired students with their words of wisdom, reflecting on the strong foundation of Kendriya Vidyalayas.

The event officially commenced with a soulful rendition of the Kendriya Vidyalaya anthem, Bharat Ka Swarnim Gaurav Kendriya Vidyalaya Layega, which resonated with the spirit of unity and pride.

The cultural performances by students were the highlight of the day, as they brought Mini India alive on stage.

Through the mesmerizing dances from Rajasthan, Punjab, Bengal, Gujarat and Maharashtra, the students showcased the beauty of India’s cultural diversity.

The vibrant costumes, synchronized choreography and enthusiastic energy captivated the audience, leaving them in awe.

Adding to the celebration was a special PM SHRI exhibition organized within the school premises.

This exhibition highlighted the innovative teaching practices and reforms introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Parents interacted with teachers and witnessed first-hand the transformative educational methodologies being implemented in the school.

Students proudly displayed their projects which emphasized experiential learning, skill development and interdisciplinary approaches, earning appreciation from all.

Principal Mahendra Kalra, in his address, said, “This day is an opportunity to honour our past and create a brighter future. It is a celebration of the legacy of our teachers and the aspirations of our students. Together, we aim to nurture future leaders, while staying rooted in our values.”

The day also emphasized the school’s commitment to holistic education where academics, culture and innovation come together to shape young minds.

The event not only celebrated the rich traditions of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan but also reaffirmed its dedication to fostering excellence and inclusivity.
