Two held for stealing bag of coins worth ₹40,000 in Chennai

The Fort Police have arrested two men for allegedly snatching a bag of coins worth ₹40,000 near RBI, Chennai. 

According to the police, G. Babu, 70, of Ponniammanmedu, works as someone who exchanges coins and soiled notes on a commission basis. On November 25, as he was waiting with a bag of coins worth ₹40,000 near RBI, two persons allegedly approached him in an autorickshaw and snatched the bag from him after pushing him down.

Based on his complaint, the police investigated the case and arrested two suspects, who have been identified as M. Shanmugam, 30, of Ennore, and M. Gunavazhagan, 29, of Ernavur. The police also recovered the coins and the autorickshaw used by the suspects.
