Traffic restrictions in Cyberabad
On December 17, from 4.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m., congestion is expected on key routes, including the stretch from ORR Exit 7 to Hakimpet via BITS Junction, Thumkunta Village, and Hakimpet. Commuters have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with the Cyberabad Traffic Police to ensure a smooth flow of vehicles.
Traffic advisories in Hyderabad
The Hyderabad City Police has also announced significant traffic restrictions during the President’s stay, with potential congestion and diversions around Rashtrapati Nilayam, Hakimpet Air Force Station, and other key areas.
On December 17, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. traffic will be halted or diverted at Hakimpet Air Force Station, Yapral Road, Bison X Road, Trimulgherry X Road, Panjagutta Junction, and Raj Bhavan, among other junctions. On December 20, between 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. , restrictions will be in place at Bison X Road, Lal Bazar, Trimulgherry, NCC, Rasoolpura, Begumpet Flyover, Panjagutta, and nearby areas. Similarly on December 21, between 9.30 a.m. to 11..30 a.m., key routes around Rashtrapati Nilayam will face temporary disruptions.

Ban on aerial platforms in Cyberabad
To enhance security during the President’s visit, the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate has imposed a temporary ban on aerial platforms, including drones, para-gliders, and micro-light aircraft. The restrictions, effective from 17 to 21 December, specifically cover the jurisdiction of Alwal Police Station and key locations such as the Rashtrapati Nilayam.
The ban comes in response to a directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs, citing potential threats from terrorist and anti-social elements using aerial devices. Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, issued the order under Section 163 of the BNSS, prohibiting any unauthorised aerial activity within a 5-km radius of the State Secretariat Complex and a 2-km radius around vital installations. Violators will face penalties under relevant sections of the BNSS, including sections 147, 148, 289, and 125.
