History-sheeter arrested for attacking a college student

The Taramani police have arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly attacked a 19-year-old college student with a knife.

According to the police, when Thaslim Sharif, a second year engineering student from Kandanchavadi, was standing near a grocery shop, P. Sarathkumar, 27, an acquaintance of his, arrived on a two-wheeler and asked him to come with him. Sarathkumar took Sharif to his house and attacked him with the knife. Hearing his cries for help, neighbours came to Sharif’s rescue. Sarathkumar fled from the spot.

Sharif was injured and admitted to a hospital. Based on his complaint, the police arrested Sarathkumar. The suspect has two criminal cases for offences including ganja peddling.
