Couple, friend killed in road accident in Ramanagara

A couple and their friend were killed when the car they were travelling in jumped the median and crashed into a KSRTC bus. The bus was coming from the opposite direction near Sangabasavanadoddi in Ramanagara on the Mysuru Bengaluru access controlled highway on Tuesday night .

The deceased have been identified as Liyakhath, 50, a scrap dealer from Shivajinagar, his wife Asma, 38 and Liyakhath’s friend Noor, 40.

The police said the trio were heading to Mysuru in a car to visit their relatives. The police suspect Noor lost control of the car, and the vehicle jumped the divider and crashed into the bus coming from the opposite direction.

The impact was so high that the car was mangled and trio was killed on the spot.

Passers-by rushed to their help and alerted Ramanagara traffic police. The police cleared the vehicle and shifted the bodies for post-mortem.

The police have registered a case and are investigating further to ascertain the reason behind the accident.
