Police arrested two hotel employees for double murder in Bengaluru
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduThe Yelahanka new town police have arrested two hotel employees in connection with a double murder case in which a security guard and his friend were bludgeoned to death on a factory premises on Sunday night.
The accused were identified as Sargam, 21, and Sameer, 19. The duo was hailing from Nepal. The police said the deceased Vikram Singh, 21, was working as a security guard at an abandoned chemical factory near Bayalu Basaveshwara Temple in Yelahanka Newtown for four years and living on the same premises.
On Sunday, Vikram invited his friend Chotu Toori, 33, from Bihar, for a booze party. Chotu was working as a driver for a garment factory nearby. The duo prepared chicken curry for dinner and were drinking when Sargam and Sameer barged in and argued with Vikram.
Sargam was annoyed with Vikram for chatting with his female friend and sharing her pictures and videos. Heated arguments ensued following which the duo assaulted Vikram with iron rods killing him on the spot. Chotu, who tried to intervene, was also beaten up to death as the duo thought that he would inform the police.
The murder came to light when a tea seller went to the factory premises to serve tea for Vikram the next morning and found Vikram and Chotu lying dead in a pool of blood.
Upon information, the police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation. They analysed CCTV footage and caught the duo in the Majestic bus stand. The police said that the accused were trying to flee from the place.
