Cabinet sub-panel approves allotment of 25 acres to TTD, sites for other institutions in Amaravati
Deadline for setting up facilities extended for organisations that were allotted land earlier in the capital
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduThe Cabinet Sub-Committee on land allotments in Amaravati comprising Ministers P. Narayana, Payyavula Keshav, T.G. Bharat, Kollu Ravindra, Kandula Durgesh and Gummadi Sandhya Rani gave its full approval for the previously allotted 25 acres to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, and a nod to give 15 acres for the establishment of Basavatarakam Cancer Institute in its meeting held at the Secretariat on Friday.
Briefing media persons about the decisions, Mr. Narayana said it was resolved to retain the prices at which the lands were allotted during the TDP regime of 2014-19.
Lands were allotted to 131 institutions in 2014-19 and new allotments were being made now as the government laid renewed thrust on the construction of Amaravati.
He said the sub-committee approved the allotment of 20 acres for the establishment of an ESI hospital and a medical college, 10 acres for Brahma Kumaris’ Education Society, five acres each for the Central Institute of Tool Design and Larsen & Toubro Skill Training Institute and 0.8 acres for Indira Gandhi National Open University.
Time extension was given to various institutions for setting up their facilities as the deadlines fixed had expired, Mr. Narayana said, adding that the officials were instructed to complete the pending land allotments by the end of December and the capital works would begin in January.
