Feedback touchscreen consoles come up at seven temples

by · The Hindu

Seven temples in the State now have touchscreen consoles for devotees to provide feedback or complaints about facilities and services.

The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister P. K. Sekarbabu, who launched one such device at the Vadapalani Andavar temple in the city, said that the consoles are one way by which devotees can communicate with the department.

“Their complaints will be divided into three -- those that can be set right the same day, those that require time and those that need tenders to be called for. The respective joint commissioners of temples will be responsible for the system. The devotees will be given a response for their feedback on their mobiles,” he said.

Kapaleeswarar temple, Vadivudaiamman temple, Sri Ranganathar temple in Srirangam, Dandayudhapani temple in Palani, Subramanya Swamy temple in Tiruttani and Marudhamalai Murugan temple are also covered in the first phase. More temples will be covered in phases.

Initially, the questions have been provided in Tamil and based on the crowds at the temple other languages including Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam will be added, said a representative of Mentor Infocomm that has provided the equipment and software and has experience setting up integrated control and command centres for various government departments.

The consoles will have questions about cleanliness inside the temple prakaram, the temple tank, the quality and taste of the prasadam, price of the items in the archana basket, availability of parking space, and archana and other puja tickets.
