Top priority to resolve land issues through Praja darbars, says Minister Ramprasad Reddy

by K. Umashanker · The HinduMinister for Transport and Sports Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy observed that officials must address land issues regularly without overlooking them.
The Minister conducted a Prajadarbar event at his residence in Boreddigaripalle village in Chinnamandem Mandal of the Annamaya district on Monday (December 16).
Minister Ramprasad Reddy noted that the public, particularly the farmers, facing various challenges due to land disputes in the past were now benefitting from the coalition government’s formation. “The government has prioritized resolving land issues. With the involvement of the legislators, the Prajadarbar events would be organized periodically all over the State, which would go a long way in promptly addressing the land disputes,” he said.
The Minister received numerous petitions from the public, mostly pertaining to the land disputes, on the occasion and forwarded them to the relevant authorities.
Meanwhile, Minister Ramprasad Reddy affirmed that illegal constructions in Rayachoti town would not be tolerated and all such constructions would be removed without any compromise.
Addressing a press conference at Abbavaram SC Colony near Rayachoti, the Minister pointed out the prevalence of illegal constructions within Rayachoti Municipality in the past.
He said that some individuals are erecting six-storey buildings without the necessary approvals, which is detrimental to public safety and negates the rules and regulations of the government and the civic bodies. He said that orders were being issued for authorities to take action against such violations.
He stated that Rayachoti town was initially developed along the banks of the Mandavya River, which had been encroached upon during the YSR Congress Party government, leading to rampant illegal construction.
He noted that many individuals were spending large sums of money to build without considering the buffer zone. He warned that such actions were objectionable as they involved building in river catchment areas, adversely affecting government revenue and jeopardizing public safety.
He cautioned about the need for averting such constructions, as they would also pose grave danger to the public during times of heavy rainfall and flooding.
