APSPDCL contractor done to death at Mallepalle

A contractor working with the Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) was murdered by some unidentified persons, while he was asleep at his farmhouse in Mallepalle village of Kothacheruvu mandal in Sri Sathya Sai district on Wednesday night.

According to the police, the deceased, Rajasekhar (45), was asleep, and his two assistants were about to leave the farmhouse when a group of unidentified persons barged into the premises. The assistants tried to stop the strangers from entering the guest house, where Rajasekhar was sleeping, but were overpowered.

The two assistants then escaped from the spot and reported the matter to the area police. The police who rushed to the spot, however, found Rajasekhar in a pool of blood with multiple injuries on his body. A case was registered and further investigation is on. The police said the CCTV footage in the vicinity is under verification.
