Andhra Pradesh Tourism, Culture, and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh has said that a Tourism Investors’ Conference will be held in Vijayawada on December 17, adding that the event is being organised on the request of the legislators and investors.

Speaking on the second day of the Collectors’ Conference at the Secretariat on December 12 (Thursday), the Minister said that a meeting of investors would be organised at Hotel Vivanta in Vijayawada to promote tourism in Andhra Pradesh.

The programme will discuss the new Tourism Policy and how to advance under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The interests of investors will be understood and future actions will be planned accordingly, he said.

The Minister said that the conclave would be beneficial in understanding where investments are being considered. The District Collectors would be invited for the conclave as their suggestions would contribute to tourism development.

A roadmap and comprehensive report will be prepared, incorporating aspects such as Central government’s cooperation, PPP model, and if necessary, the Public-Private-People’s Partnership (P4 model), to guide future actions, he said.

Thanking Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for granting industry status to the tourism sector, Mr. Durgesh appreciated the efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for meeting several Union Ministers during his Delhi visit and securing funds for the Akhanda Godavari and Gandikota projects.

“Over the past six months, several MLAs have submitted various proposals for the development of tourism in different districts which will also be discussed,” he added.
