No water supply in some areas today
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduAs part of maintenance works at 33/11 KV pumping station in Aliabad reservoir, and electrical shutdown, drinking water supply will be disrupted in parts of the city on Thursday, informed Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) on Wednesday.
The affected areas include Badam Masjid, Balaganj, Mahankali Temple, Lal Darwaza, Mitra Club, Chatrinaka, Gandhi Statue, Srinivas High School Area, Sriram Nagar, Panduranga Rao Veedhi, CIB Quarters, Harijan Basti, Gowlipura, Mekala Mandi, Sardar Patel Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Hammam Bowli, Bhoiguda, Kandikal Gate, DK Colony, Rajanna Bowli, and Qadri Chaman.
In a separate development, the Water Board reported seven illegal water connections to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport police station and got the violators booked under applicable criminal cases.
According to officials, B. Ravi, B. Krishna, B. Kumar, B. Anjaiah, Mahbubi, K. Balaraj, T. Bhaskar residing in Kummari Basti, Yadav Basti and Kapugadda, under the Shamshabad section, O&M division 18, have two connections each. The users could not produce certificates when inspecting officials inquired.
Illegal water and sewage connections can be reported to the Water Board ‘s vigilance team on 9989998100 and 9989987135.
