Complete verification of 80,000 applications for Indiramma Houses by December 31: Telangana Revenue Minister

by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduVerification of the 80,000 applications for Indiramma Houses should be completed by the end of the month, Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy instructed collectors on Wednesday (December 11, 2024). The verification process has begun in some of the districts. Government staff are using a recently launched app to verify details of the applicants.
Under the first phase, ₹5 lakhs financial assistance in four installments would be given to people owning land to construct a house. The government would take up construction of 3,500 houses each in 119 Assembly constituencies and ₹22,500 crore would be needed in the first phase. It was earlier stated that the poorest of the poor would be given priority.
Mr. Srinivas held a video conference with the district collectors on Wednesday (December 11, 2024) where the survey, door-to-door caste survey, Group-2 exams, hike in mess charges were discussed.
One surveyor for 500 applicants
The Revenue Minister said that one surveyor has to be allotted to every 500 applicants. The app, recently launched by the State government to carry out the survey, has to be used. He said that publicity has to be given about the survey a day before taking it up in a village. Collectors were directed to review the details everyday. People who are part of the Indiramma Committees too have to participate in the procedure. If the committees are not formed yet, steps towards it have to be taken.
To receive grievances and suggestions, he directed the officials to announce toll free numbers for every district headquarters.
The Minister on behalf of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy congratulated officials and staff who have covered 1.12 crore families out of the 1.16 crore under the door-to-door survey to assess social, economic, caste, political and education status.
Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari, government adviser Ven Narender Reddy were present in the meeting.
