Police issue update after man and woman assaulted on estate
by Stephen Topping · Manchester Evening NewsPolice have issued an update after a man and a woman were attacked on a Warrington estate. Police descended on Grasmere Avenue, in Orford, at around 6.30am on Wednesday (November 6).
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a number of police cars and ambulances at the scene, with 'sirens everywhere' on Wednesday morning. Two people were assaulted in the incident, police previously confirmed.
A 34-year-old man was arrested for a string of offences following the incident. He was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault (grievous bodily harm), assaulting a person occasioning actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation, threats to kill and affray.
In an update issued this morning (Friday), Cheshire Police confirmed the suspect has since been released on bail pending further enquiries. The investigation is ongoing.
