A new affordable housing development in Bolton and a 44-storey skyscraper are the most significant planning applications across Greater Manchester this week.

The shortage of affordable housing is well-documented in the city-region, but Great Places Housing Group wants to provide a solution with their new plan for Great Lever. The £11m development would see 43 large homes built for an affordable price.

Over in Manchester city centre, a new skyscraper could soon be looming across from Deansgate Locks.
