Police launch manhunt as robber absconds from prison - people urged to call 999 if they see him

The public have been warned not to approach David Foskett if they see him and call 999 instead.
Police said the 49-year-old 'absconded' from HMP Sudbury, an open prison in Derbyshire, on Thursday afternoon and a manhunt to locate him was now underway.

Foskett, who has distinctive tattoos and prominent scars, was jailed for six years for robbery in 2020.
In an appeal tonight, Derbyshire Constabulary said: "We are appealing for information after a prisoner absconded from HMP Sudbury.
"David Foskett left the prison between 12.15pm and 4.45pm on Thursday 21 November.
"The 49-year-old is described as white, 5ft 3ins tall, and has closely shaven brown hair. He has scars on the right side of his head, a cross tattoo on his right arm and bulldogs on both arms.
"Foskett, who the public are asked not to approach, has links to the Lancaster, Morecambe, and Greater Manchester areas. He had been sentenced to six years in prison at Preston Crown Court in December 2020 for robbery.
