ITV I'm A Celebrity star fumes 'listen to me' as first tensions flare a week into camp arrival
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsI'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here fans feared this year's show might be 'boring' as the new crop of campmates living in harmony.
But during Saturday night's (November 23) visit to the jungle, nearly a week after the famous faces were seen entering during the ITV reality show's 2024 launch, tensions started to flare between two unexpected campmates.
Following a huge helping of junk food after latecomer's Maura Higgins and Richard Coles' sneaky secret mission and stomach-churning eating trial, a sleepy Dean McCullough decided to take a nap. But with chores still to do, Jane Moore had to go and collect firewood, . She confessed in keeping with camp rules: "I can’t do it on my own".
Watching Jane head off on her own, Alan Halsall decided to take the reins and wake Dean up so he could help out. But a sleepy and disorientated Dean was left less than impressed at being woken and hardly stirred as Alan asked him: "You don’t fancy it? No?".
When he got little response from BBC Radio 1 presenter Dean, Coronation Street actor Alan decided to go down with Jane to help her so she wasn’t alone. As Dean headed to join Alan and Jane, he said to Alan: "You can go back now."
Alan then explained: "I was trying to wake you up as soft as I could.” Dean responded: "Listen to me. If you’re gonna wake me up, you need to give me a minute, alright? It takes a couple of minutes for my contact lenses to get back working again, alright, so you don’t need to turn around to me and say ‘do you not fancy it?’ ok? And then turn around and walk away.”
Alan replied: "I’ve listened to you, Jane was halfway down here, that’s why I went…" to which Dean said: "Ok I get that but you need to give me a minute mate." The two continued back and forth, and I'm A Celeb viewers will wait and see whether it will become a feud between the pair.
