M6 crash: One dead with multiple others seriously injured after lorry crosses carriageway and overturns
by James Holt · Manchester Evening NewsOne person has died with a number of others seriously injured after a horrific crash involving a lorry on the M6 on Wednesday (November 6).
An air ambulance was scrambled to the scene with the motorway closed off by emergency services following the crash. A lorry crossed the central reservation, from the northbound to the southbound carriageway, and overturned after hitting multiple other vehicles.
The road was fully closed shortly after 11.20am between junctions 33 near Lancaster and 32 near Preston. An air ambulance also landed at the scene after the collision, involving two lorries and three cars.

There were major delays throughout the afternoon following the collision, which saw the lorry smash into the central reservation and land across the busy motorway. Police, paramedics and fire crews blocked off the area, with diversions put in place.
Lancashire Police have not yet confirmed the gender of the deceased, or how many other motorists were left seriously injured.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said in an update: "We were called at about 11.20am today to reports of a serious collision on the motorway close to junction 33.
"The collision involved an HGV travelling northbound which crossed onto the southbound carriageway and collided with a number of other vehicles. Very sadly the collision has resulted in one fatality and a number of other serious injuries. Our thoughts are with all those affected at this time.
"Emergency services remain at the scene and the motorway remains closed in both directions between junctions 32 and 33 while we continue to deal with the incident. The closure is likely to stay in place for some considerable time so please check before you travel as diversions are in place."
