Police issue CCTV appeal after man found with 'significant facial injuries'

Police have released CCTV pictures of two men they want to speak after a 'serious attack' in Leigh.

Officers were called to a 'disturbance' in the Market Street area at around 3am on July 4 this year. They found a man with 'significant facial injuries' on the scene.

Police believe the victim was hurt in a serious attack. Officers now want to the two men in the CCTV photos about what happened.

Anyone who can identify them is being urged to get in touch. In a post on the Wigan and Leigh Facebook page, police said: "#APPEAL | Police have released images of two men they wish to speak with in relation to a serious assault which occurred in the early hours of the morning in Leigh town centre on the 4th July 2024.

"At approximately 3AM, Police were called by CCTV operators to an ongoing disturbance in the Market Street area of Leigh. On arrival, officers discovered a male with significant facial injuries who had been subject to a serious assault at the scene.

"We are now in a position whereby we can release these images to the public in a bid to identify two males we wish to speak with regarding this incident. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police on 101, quoting log number 283 of the 4th July 2024.
