Man charged in connection with 'high value theft' from Man City
by Manchester Evening News · Manchester Evening NewsA man has been charged in connection with an alleged 'high value' theft of equipment from Manchester City's Etihad Stadium.
As reported in the Manchester Evening News last year, an NWAS employee was arrested after tens of thousands of pounds worth of equipment was allegedly stolen.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed it was investigating.
Last August, NWAS said it was aware of the arrest but refused to reveal whether the man had been suspended or was continuing to work.
In July last year a spokesperson for GMP said: "The force is investigating high value theft from the Etihad. A male has been arrested and is currently on bail."
In connection with the investigation GMP said in a statement today: "David McNally 47, from Rossendale has been charged with theft. He will next appear at Manchester Magistrates on Wednesday 11 December 2024."
Last month NWAS confirmed that Mr McNally from Cherry Tree Way Helmshore, had left the service.
