Rylan Clark has opened up about his relationship status

Rylan Clark admits 'feeling lonely' as he shares relationship update

TV favourite Rylan Clark made a candid admission while speaking about his current relationship status.

The BBC Radio 2 presenter took to his YouTube channel for a fan Q&A, where he was asked "do you ever feel lonely?"

He replied: "Yeah, sometimes, which is really really weird. Because obviously I've got all you lot who I can message but sometimes you do. I think that's alright though because if you do feel a bit lonely you can just ring someone or go and see your mates."

Later on in the video, Rylan replied to a fan's question of whether he had a partner. He explained: "No I don't, I'm very single. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind one. I'm pretty content on my own, I'm quite a busy boy.

“I know I keep moaning that I’m single, but it’s actually quite nice to do what I want, when I want where I want, with who I want.”

One person Rylan has been linked to in the past is telly judge Rob Rinder, but he was quick to shut down any rumours.

“I can't get rid of him, people thought we were dating," the Essex-born star said. Ryan stressed that their partnership is purely platonic: “People thought we were together, and there's nothing wrong with that thought but we're not. We're just friends.”

Rylan added that they’re as close as two mates can be. He continued: “We're like a married couple – we row all the time and don't have sex. He's very much part of my life, I speak to him most days.”

Rylan is about to be spending a lot of time away from his luxurious home because he’s gearing up to record a sequel to his smash hit Grand Tour TV show.

It was that show which saw Rylan’s bond with Rob grow as they retraced the steps of the aristocratic “grand tours” of the Georgian era.

"Watching it back, the narrative, the arc throughout the three episodes even something as stupid as in Venice, we were in separate accommodation,” Rylan recalled on This Morning.

“In Florence, we were in the same accommodation in different rooms and by Rome, I'm waking up with him underneath me.

“But that's the narrative of the arc. We started this process as mates and we have finished it as actual genuine friends. That's been probably the best thing to come out of it."

After the ratings success of their European tour Rylan and BFF Rob will be travelling to India to sample the sights, sounds and smells of the subcontinent in the aptly named A Passage To India.

Producers say the show will follow the much-loved duo “as they aim to find a deeper, more spiritual connection to themselves and each other, promising viewers an entertaining and engaging insight into how culture can help us find out what really matters in life”.
