New police appeal over missing pensioner, 74, last seen near Asda store

Police today issued a fresh appeal for the public's help over a missing 74 year-old man in Bury.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed on Sunday John remained missing and urged anyone with information or possible sightings of him to come forward.

The pensioner, who's surname hasn't been revealed, was last seen near to the Asda store on Spring Street in Bury.

That was at around 11.45am on Monday, December 2.

Writing on social media, GMP Bury said: "Have you seen John from Bury? John (74) was last seen near ASDA on Spring Street, Bury at around 11:47am on Monday 2 December 2024

"Extensive enquiries have been made to date. Any info? Contact us on 0161 856 8191, quoting log 742 of 13/12/24.2

John is described as around 5ft 6in tall, slim and bald.

He was last seen wearing black jeans, black shiny boots, a thigh-length green coat and a dark blue cap. Police said he had a black vest on under his coat.

His image and the details of the appeal are being shared on social media.
