Amazon logo has hidden message – and people are only just realising detail

We're swamped by branding as companies strive to make an impact and attract potential customers.

The logos of some of the most well-known companies are so recognisable, they're identified worldwide - even by those who haven't patronised their services.

One such brand is Amazon, whose deceptively straightforward emblem is known everywhere. LOGO.com's president, Richard Lau, a guru in logo creation and marketing strategies, explained: "Businesses cannot overlook the value a great logo holds; they are the connection between a company and potential customers, and what customers will remember most."

As arguably the world's largest e-tailer, Amazon boasts a logo with a cleverly concealed nod to its product range. Many spot the logo's smiley arrow, signifying joy and hinting that whatever you wish for may just be found at the company.

Not only does the smile imply customer satisfaction, it's designed to show the extent of its product offerings, as it points from A to Z. Richard further commented: "This small design feature subliminally reinforces the idea that Amazon is a one-stop-shop for all consumer needs."

Subtle yet impactful, the symbolic logo has been decoded by some discerning individuals. Over on social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, one astute buyer remarked: "I just realised the arrow in Amazon’s logo is because they deliver from point A to Z, how did i not notice this before."

Another individual shared: "I was yesterday years old when I first noticed that the arrow in the Amazon logo was pointing from A to Z. It’s amazing how many years you can look at some of these logos before it clicks."

This sparked a response from another social media user who said: "Thanks for teaching me this!"

One observant social media user noted: "Amazon's logo contains an orange arrow that goes from A to Z, hinting that the company sells every product imaginable. The arrow also doubles as a smile, showing that their goal is their customers’ satisfaction."

While another quipped: "IM SO DUMB I JUST REALISED THE AMAZON LOGO ARROW THING IS LIKE A TO Z LIKE 'WE HAVE EVERYTHING' OH MY GOD I'M A DUMB A**", prompting another user to respond: "I didn't know this till now..."

And another admitted: "I didn’t notice that until a couple months ago, it’s okay lmao." Someone else confessed: "Omfg I never noticed this either."

Amazon was founded on July 5, 1994, by Jeff Bezos, initially as a marketplace for books before broadening its scope to include a wide array of product categories. According to various reports, the company was originally going to be named Cadabra, as a reference to the magic phrase "abracadabra".

However, when Bezos’ lawyer believed it sounded too much like cadaver, he renamed the company, settling on Amazon.

It’s considered one of the ‘Big Five’ American technology companies, alongside Alphabet, the parent company of Google; Apple; Meta, which is the parent company of Facebook; and Microsoft.
