CCTV image released after moped rider 'threatened with knife' on Manchester street

A moped rider was 'threatened with a knife and pushed off his bike' in east Manchester. Police are investigating an attempted knifepoint robbery in Ardwick on Sunday afternoon (November 3).

Greater Manchester Police received a report that the victim was riding on his moped when he was threatened with a knife on Ardwick Green South at around 3.40pm. He was reportedly assaulted, resulting in him being pushed off his vehicle.

GMP says the victim suffered minor injuries from the incident. He was treated by paramedics at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing and police have today (Tuesday) released a CCTV image showing two people they wish to speak to as part of their investigation.

Witnesses are also being urged to come forward. A GMP spokesperson added: "Officers investigating this incident have followed up with several lines of enquiry and are now in a position to ask for the public’s assistance.

"If you saw anything suspicious on Ardwick Green around 3:40pm, or anyone with information, is encouraged to call 101 quoting log 2050 of November 3, 2024. Alternatively, you can remain anonymous by contacting our independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
