Tragedy as cyclist, 25, killed after crash with HGV at busy roundabout
by Ashlie Blakey · Manchester Evening NewsA 25-year-old cyclist has tragically died after being struck by a HGV at a busy roundabout in Salford.
The smash happened on Albion Way, at the roundabout with the M602 and the A57 Regent Road, at around 1pm yesterday (Wednesday, November 20). A huge emergency services presence descended on the scene as road closures were put in the place around the area.
A forensic tent was erected on the road as investigations were carried out, as a screen was also erected. Greater Manchester Police said officers responded to reports of a crash between a HGV and a cyclist.

Sadly, the cyclist - a 25-year-old man - died a short time after the crash from his injuries. The driver of the HGV remained on the scene to assist police.
No arrests have been made at this stage, the GMP spokesperson added. Any witnesses, or anyone with video or dash cam footage of the incident, are now being urged to come forward.
Detective Constable Steven Pennington, from GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "Since the incident we are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this to please come forward if we haven’t already spoken to you.

"We are especially keen to speak to anyone who has CCTV footage, including dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area at the time of the collision and the moments leading up to it. This is to ensure we understand fully the circumstances and can bring the answers to the family and friends who are having to come to terms with losing their loved one."
