Coronation Street confirms major move for fans after Joel Deering killer unmasked
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsCoronation Street has confirmed a big move for fans of the show which can be seen once Joel Deering's killer has been unmasked. The official end of the solicitor is now in sight following Weatherfield's biggest-ever whodunnit.
As fans of the ITV soap know, Joel, played by Calum Lill, first went missing at the end of September. The news was revealed when he failed to show up to court where it was thought that he'd face comeuppance for some of his twisted crimes.
A warrant was issued for Joel's arrest but, after transferring money to Lauren Bolton, his grooming victim and now the mother of his son Frankie, and his ex-wife Emily, as well leaving an emotional voicemail for his former fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey, Joel's car was found abandoned and it was believed Joel may have taken his own life.

The police case, however, quickly turned into solving Joel's murder after his body was found floating down a river before it was confirmed he'd been killed with a heavy weapon before entering the water.
Over the past few weeks, Corrie viewers have seen scorned ex-Dee-Dee, her dad Ed and her uncle Ronnie put in the frame, as has DS Lisa Swain, whose daughter Betsy was wrapped up with Joel and discovered he'd threatened to kill the teen, Mason Radcliffe and Carla Connor.
The case's leading investigator Kit Green has also been teased as being involved in Joel's demise and Lauren Bolton and Max Turner have been confirmed as the final two suspects before the truth will finally be out next week.
It's been confirmed by Corrie that viewers will be treated to a series of thrilling flashbacks will climax with the most explosive drama yet as we see a bloodied and battered Joel fearing for his life on the railway tracks.
At the start of next week, with Joel’s murder still unsolved, the police are coming under pressure to get a result. Joel’s wronged ex Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown), her dad Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) and uncle Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) are all on the suspects list.
Along with bad boy Mason (Luca Toolan), Swain (Vicky Myers) who was removed from the case after Joel’s involvement with her daughter Betsy was revealed, and the detective investigating the mystery himself DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts). But on Monday (November 11) during another revealing flashback we again see Carla (Alison King) leaving the factory on the night Joel disappeared.
At first viewers thought she herself may have something to hide but as she calls out to someone, we’re shocked this time to see that it’s Max Turner (Paddy Bever) and Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) outside in the dead of night.
What were they doing on the street on the night of September 27th and could they be complicit in the murder of Joel Deering? With Weatherfield’s crime wall photo now full and the viewers handed all the evidence, it is only a matter of days before the real killer is exposed.
