Aldi shoppers ask same question as supermarket teases Christmas advert
by Miranda Pell · Manchester Evening NewsThe dust has barely settled over Halloween, but Aldi is already looking ahead to Christmas.
The popular supermarket chain has updated its cover photo on Facebook with a banner that reads: “The Christmas spirit is here.” You might think that this would lead people to get excited about what kind of new food Aldi might be releasing over the Christmas period… but you would be wrong.
Instead, it got Aldi shoppers asking the same question - where is Kevin?

Kevin the Carrot is Aldi’s Christmas mascot who appears each year in the supermarket’s Christmas ad and can be found in Aldi's middle aisle up as a lovable squishy toy.
The carrot first appeared in 2016 and Aldi shoppers are seriously obsessed with him. Under the Facebook update, users flooded the comments with demands for Kevin’s return.
One comment read: “what do we want? KEVIN! when do we want him? NOW!!” While another wrote a little more patiently: “When can we expect Kevin? Aldi UK asking for a friend”.
Kevin the Carrot is a seriously popular guy, with someone commenting: “Can’t wait to see what Kevin does this year” and another wrote: “When is the man the myth the legend the mighty Kevin making his debut this year”.

Forget about Christmas, because one Aldi shopper has announced: “It’s Kevin season” and another person explained that it’s “Not Christmas until Kevin arrives”.
In another post on Facebook, Aldi posted a picture of its Christmas ad up on a poster and wrote: “With Halloween nothing but a spooky memory, the Christmas Spirit has finally arrived.”
But some shoppers feel that it is too soon after Halloween to be getting excited about Christmas though. Someone wrote on Facebook: “Bonfire night first” and another commented: “Noooo....it's not December yet, and we've still got bonfire night and remembrance day to go!”
Aldi's Christmas campaign is always popular, and people are eagerly awaiting the release of the annual Christmas ad - hoping and praying for an appearance from Kevin the Carrot.
