Officers arrest man after tyre blows on motorway

Officers were called to the M66 on Tuesday (November 5) after the HGV's front tyre blew out, causing it to crash into the carriageway's central reservation.
But when they spoke to the driver and inspected the vehicle they found it had an unsecure load, and arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence of cannabis.

In a post on X, Greater Manchester Police wrote: "ME11 & #CVU officers attended this RTC earlier today on the M66, after the HGV’s front tyre blew out & the truck collided with the central barrier.
"HGV was found to have an insecure load & driver arrested Sus Sec 5A Cannabis. #fatal4"
