Rylan Clark's mum's fear after waitress's comment during holiday

by · Manchester Evening News

The BBC Radio 2 star, Rylan Clark, and his mum Linda experienced an amusing mix-up on their recent getaway to Marbella.

Linda has endeared herself to the audience of Rylan's Saturday afternoon show by sharing weekly snippets of her life. This time, she revealed a comic incident from their dining adventures in Spain.

They observed several couples being guided into an opulently decorated room, which sparked Linda's curiosity. During the show, she nudged her son, saying: "You'll have to tell Lottie [Uttley] when you're off air about the red room."

Rylan humorously responded: "You can't talk about that on air.... All I will say is we were in this restaurant and we kept seeing like, mainly couples in there, being walked into this room that looked very red. Then the door would shut, they'd be in there for about five minutes and then come out."

"Mum obviously thought it was like some sort of club", reports the Mirror. To which Linda candidly admitted, "No, I thought it was a sex club."

Her son, taken aback, cautioned on-air: "Mum! We're on the radio mum."

Recalling her initial worry about the mysterious room, Linda continued: "Then they called the waitress and she came over and said 'you will be going in soon' so I went oh god. But weren't it beautiful in there".

To their relief, it turned out that the room was just the area where desserts were collected. The duo are well-acquainted with holiday escapades in Spain.

Last year, Linda's holiday was marred by a severe accident that resulted in a broken arm and leg after a nasty fall, leading her son Rylan to take a break from his on-air duties. To ensure his mother's recovery, Rylan arranged for a private flight to bring her back home.

At 71, Linda has won the hearts of Rylan's followers through their joint appearances on Celebrity Gogglebox. Reflecting on their recent adventures, Rylan dubbed it the "best holiday" in an Instagram post.

He also shared: "Sad to be home but amazing memories."
