Two wanted men police in Greater Manchester are trying to trace

Officers have issued urgent appeals to find two wanted men in Greater Manchester. Police are searching for 32-year-old Issac Akani and 44-year-old Derek Lawton today (November 1).

Greater Manchester Police has issued separate appeals for the pair. The force says Akani is wanted 'after he absconded from officers in Openshaw' at around 8am this morning.

"He is wanted for serious offences, and we ask you not to approach him if you see him," a GMP spokesperson said. Akani is described as black, 5ft 7ins tall and of slim build.

He has short, black hair and black stubble. Akani is believed to be wearing grey joggers and an oversized brown hoodie.

Meanwhile, GMP is also searching for Lawton, who is wanted on recall to prison. Lawton is known to have links to Wigan, Leigh and Merseyside.
