Police stop learner driver travelling ALONE and going wrong way round roundabout

A learner driver was caught driving the wrong way around a roundabout.

Police also said that the driver, who was alone in the car, was 'shocked' to learn that they should have been accompanied by a qualified driver. Traffic cops from Greater Manchester Police's Wigan and Leigh division pulled over the motorist.

The car also didn't have an L plate, and officers seized the vehicle. On the GMP Wigan and Leigh Facebook account, officers said: "Whilst on patrol and coming to the end of the shift, PC Ashall, from Wigan & Leigh's E Relief Response Team, came across this vehicle travelling around a roundabout in the wrong direction.

"The vehicle was stopped and the driver, who only held a provisional licence, was shocked to learn that they were not able to drive unaccompanied and without L plates displayed voiding any insurance plans in place.

"Traffic offence report issued, Vehicle seized."
