Elon Musk 'giggles at memes' before Donald Trump tells him to pay attention to UFC fight

Elon Musk attended the bout in New York’s Madison Square Garden alongside Donald Trump and several other celebrity supporters - but his odd behaviour has been mocked online

Elon Musk's odd behaviour at a UFC bout has been mocked online as he was spotted scrolling his phone and laughing - prompting Donald Trump to apparently reprimand him.

Musk attended the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 309 bout in New York’s Madison Square Garden alongside the president elect and several celebrity supporters and new cabinet nominees.

Also in the crowd were Robert F Kennedy Jr and Tulsi Gabbard, as well as Vivek Ramaswamy, who Trump has picked to co-manage the new “Department of Government Efficiency” with Musk.

Longtime UFC fan Trump sat between UFC President Dana White and Musk who was caught on camera scrolling his phone and laughing.

Online commenters spotted the moment, and eyebrows were raised when Trump seemingly pointed at the fight, urging Elon to focus on the action in front of them.

“Elon Musk laughing it up, probably at a meme on X,” said the Donald J. Trump News account, adding: “ Donald Trump points towards the fight to get Elon to pay attention to UFC 309.”

The video drew support from Elon fans, who claimed he was “just like us” scrolling his phone when he is supposed to be paying attention.

Meanwhile another video of Musk behaving more strangely at the UFC fight is also doing the rounds.

A video of the Tesla CEO staring intently at something ahead of him while sitting between Trump and musician Kid Rock was posted on X, formerly Twitter, with the caption, “Elon controlling things with his mind”.

People were quick to comment on the strange intensity of his gaze, with one saying: “Can you imagine what he's thinking. Probably endless plans.” While another was less complimentary, posting: “Is Elon the secret evil villain that has always been in our face but we failed to see?”

A third simply said: “Looks like he's pooping his pants,” while a fourth joked “or the robot was rebooting”.

Famous Trump supporters were out in force last night with the president-elect also giving a warm greeting to podcaster and UFC announcer Joe Rogan, who endorsed him.
