An unimpressed judge gave a couple caught in the middle of a sex act on a plane a scathing put-down, as they were sentenced this week.

Antonia Sullivan and Bradly Smith were on the packed easyJet flight to Bristol from Tenerife when she placed several coats over her partner’s lap. Moments after take-off shocked witnesses saw "vigorous hand movements" from beneath in seats 16A and 16B on the March 3 flight and alerted the cabin crew.

Bristol Magistrates’ Court heard the pair, both from Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, were later hauled off the flight by officers and questioned after landing in Bristol. Sullivan and Smith, 22, pleaded guilty to a count of outraging public decency by committing a sexual act in a public place.

Judge Lynn Matthews said to the pair: "Who do you think you are?” She added: “You had no regard for the feelings of other passengers. There was a child sitting behind you who was able to see what was happening.

“Who do you think you are and what right do you think entitled you to behave in that way in full view of people on that flight?”

A court heard Smith asked his girlfriend to carry out the act, which was witnessed by three fellow passengers including a teenage girl who was sat behind them next to her mum, The Sun reports. She told her mother 'I can see his bits'. Sullivan told the cabin crew she was just rubbing her boyfriend's leg.

Prosecutor Maree Doyle told the court: "After a few minutes the witness was aware that the couple had re-arranged some coats over Smith’s lap and there followed vigorous hand movements beneath the coat. The witness sitting next to them could see what was happening while a mother and teenage daughter sitting behind the couple could also see what was going on.”

Smith was ordered to complete 300 hours of community work and Sullivan was told to finish 270 hours. An easyJet spokesperson told The Sun: "We can confirm this flight to Bristol was met by police on arrival, due to the behaviour of two passengers onboard.”
