Eagle-eyed voters are convinced Donald Trump will fail to regain the US presidency after spotting a small detail behind the 78-year old at his final rally ahead of the polls.

Trump took to the stage in Raleigh, North Carolina on Monday (November 4) to issue one last call for support as he goes head-to-head with Kamala Harris today. The Republican addressed his supporters for 90 minutes on topics including border control and immigration - but it appeared many attendees in the 5,000-seat J.S. Dorton Arena weren't as excited as he was.

Behind the man, who was previously president from 2017 to 2021, sat scores of audience members - none of whom looked remotely interested in 'Making America Great Again' too.

"Zoom in on every single person in the background," demanded one US resident in a tweet at Trump's expense. It appears more than three million X users did - with many taking to the comments section to poke fun at the father-of-five.

"That's what happens when you pay kids 20 bucks," claimed one person, suggesting members of the crowd had a financial incentive to attend. A second quipped: "There isn’t a soul on the planet that can listen to someone yammer on and on about themselves the way he does without falling into absolute boredom."

A third X user joked: "Most are on their phones, one asleep, one looking at someone else's phone, one regretting not bringing her phone." Whilst a fourth pondered: "The people who appear directly behind Trump are hand selected by his staff to make him look good and this is the best they could come up with in Raleigh, NC?"

Another said: "Wow. Pure boredom and disinterest. He will lose in a landslide."

Kamala HQ also took to X, meanwhile, to point out another noticeable aspect of Trump's final call. Sharing a news report from MSNBC, the fan account penned: "There are many empty seats at one of Trump’s final rallies.

"I can't tell you exactly why, but in this final week, we have seen far smaller crowds for Trump. For the first time since 2015, we’ve been looking around and questioning why the crowd sizes have been less than what we are accustomed to."

Trump closed his address in Raleigh telling fans that the election is his to lose. "But it's ours to lose. Does that make sense to you? It's ours to lose if we if we get everybody out and vote, there's not a thing they can do," he explained. Despite the momentum being with his opponent, he said: "Hopefully, everything will work out well. We’re way leading. All we have to do is close it out. If we get everybody out and vote, there’s not a thing they can do."

He also dismissed the influence of former Democratic president Barack Obama, who has campaigned for Harris in several battleground states, labelling him the "divider in chief".
