A man, dubbed the "Phantom Pooper," has continued to leave his mark on a village road, leaving residents in disgust.

The village of Camber, East Sussex, has become embroiled in a bizarre mystery to uncover a man who is going around defecating in public places while remembering to bring his own bog roll. Sickening CCTV footage taken on Thursday morning showed a man who was seen stood in the corner of a garage on a residential street with toilet roll in hand.

He could then be seen squatting down and brazenly defecating in plain sight where people could easily walk past. Another clip showed the same man appearing to walk away from the area, again with toilet paper in hand.

Sussex News shared the odd incident on X/Twitter and wrote: "The 'Phantom Pooper' strikes again in Camber. This stealthy stinker leaves his mark - and even comes prepared with his own toilet roll.

"This mysterious man keeps leaving unwanted deposits in a person's residential driveway." The shocking incident sparked horror from social media users.

One said: "He must surely have a reason. So sad someone has to result in doing this. Really feel for the residents." Another wrote: "Oh my days. What's wrong with some people?"

Sussex Police told The Mirror: "We are aware of a video on X of a man allegedly defecating on private property in Camber. Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police online or call 101."

The incident recalls several other bizarre mysteries where human poo was left about in public, causing distress to those who discover it. In February this year, NHS staff shared their fears after human faeces repeatedly appeared in staff-only areas of a hospital.

Incidents were reported at NHS Royal Manchester Children's Hospital according to internal incident reports filed by staff and seen by the Manchester Evening News (M.E.N).

One source told the M.E.N. how they feared the excrement was ‘being brought into the changing rooms in sample pots and jars’, saying: “It’s been put in the towels in the men’s changing rooms in the children’s theatre department. Our surgeons and anaesthetists have to take showers before they go into theatre, and someone found that excrement had been put in the towels.”
