What TV channel is Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest on? How to watch Premier League match

Chelsea and Nottingham Forest face each other at Stamford Bridge today but the game will not be televised live in the UK - with Sky Sports instead favouring Aston Villa's clash with Manchester United

Premier League fans in the UK wanting to watch Chelsea's clash against Nottingham Forest today will be left sorely disappointed.

The Blues have been on an incredible run of form as of late, pipping Gent 4-2 in the Europa Conference League midweek, after disposing of Brighton in the league with the same score line last weekend - Cole Palmer putting all four goals past Bart Verbruggen in the first half in record-breaking fashion.

Those results have contributed to a real feelgood vibe around Stamford Bridge, and they'll be looking to keep the heat on the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City when they meet Nottingham Forest at 2pm today. Forest have had a decent start of their own, having recorded two wins, three draws and a single loss in their opening six matches.

They have already displayed giant-slaying capabilities with a 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield, and Nuno Espirito Santo will be looking for more of the same this afternoon. With a tense top flight battle set for 2pm, many fans would have been hoping to watch along from home - but unless you're inside the ground, UK fans will have to settle for the highlights later this evening.

Why is Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest not being shown on TV in the UK?

While a number of Premier League games weren't shown yesterday due to the Premier League's 3pm blackout - including Arsenal's clash with Southampton and Manchester City's meeting with Fulham at the Etihad - there is no such prevention in place on Sundays.

Unfortunately though, Chelsea's fixture with Nottingham Forest has not been selected for television this afternoon. Two other blockbuster fixtures instead take place on Sky Sports' Super Sunday.

Aston Villa take on Manchester United at 2pm this afternoon, while 4.30pm's showing comes in the form of Brighton vs Spurs at the Amex. Meanwhile, TNT are opting to show India vs Bangladesh in the T20, and Saracens vs Exeter Chiefs in the Gallagher Premiership.

However, Blues fans won't have to wait too long until they see their beloved side performing for the cameras again - with their visit to Anfield against Liverpool set to be televised via Sky Sports in two weeks' time.

Where can I watch Chelsea vs Forest?

While the game won't be broadcast live in the UK by Sky Sports or TNT Sports, highlights will be available to watch through the Sky Sports app shortly after the final whistle. Highlights will also be broadcast on Match of the Day in the evening, which is set to start at 10.30pm on BBC One.

BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra will be providing a live commentary as of 1.55pm this afternoon, while BBC Radio 5 Live's main fixture comes as Villa vs United. Those living outside of the UK may still be able to tune in for the game, dependent on their local Premier League TV rights holder.
