A bride who continued with her wedding despite being jilted at the altar has finally found her “forever man” - two years later.

Kayley Stead, 29, was left heartbroken when her ex-fiancé Kallum Norton failed to turn up for their big day in September 2022. She captured the nation’s hearts by deciding to go ahead with the £12,000 nuptials on her own.

Kayley, from Swansea, had a solo wedding entrance, meal, speech, dance and professional photos. She spent the next two years embracing the single life - vowing not to get into another relationship until it felt “right.” But in February she messaged her old university pal Richard, 29, and romance blossomed.

Now they are planning on moving in together. Delighted Kayley believes she has found her partner for life and “finally knows what true love feels like”.

She said: “Richard and I are really happy and settled. I’ve changed so much in the last two years. I feel like he really reassures me. We have so much respect for one another. I feel like he could be my ‘forever partner.’ I’ve known him since 2013. We were always really, really good friends in university.

“He actually asked me out in first year - I said ‘no. Then, I asked him out in third year - this time, he said ‘no.’ But we’ve always kept in touch on Instagram and Snapchat.” Kayley decided to send Richard a message in response to a video he’d posted on his Snapchat story.

She said the pair “never let the conversation drop” and romance blossomed after a Valentine’s Day meal. Kallum, a rookie police officer from Swansea, refused to comment when approached in 2022.
