A randy couple were left red-faced after being spotted getting intimate in the middle of a golf course.

The pair were caught by a jogger at the sixteenth hole of Clarks Beach Golf Club, about an hour away from Auckland in New Zealand, when she was so stunned she took a picture. She posted the image on Facebook, claiming she thought the duo who committed the brazen act may have been cheating on their respective partners.

Sharing a photo of the raunchy performance on a local Facebook group, she captioned it: "Hey, Romeo, Juliet, 7.15pm on a Monday, really?' She said as she documented the outrageous act, the couple appeared to show they were aware they weren't alone.

Speaking to local news outlet the NZ Herald, the jogger aired her concerns. She said: "'I got my phone and just did a quick video, probably a four-second video, but by that time they had stopped moving, I think they were aware of my presence.

'After my run, I did see a man and a woman like in the distance playing golf, and they looked like they were in their 50s or 60s. So I had a feeling it might have been them, but they weren't making any eye contact with me."

In the photo, you can see a bag of clubs beside the raunchy twosome who were laying on the ground along the fairway, including one of their bare bums out, MailOnline reports. The jogger continued: "I mean, I get the passion, but couldn't they have at least picked a slightly more private spot? Like, maybe a bush or something. I suppose they were going for the 'live-action nature documentary' vibe.'

Social media users were quick to poke fun at the brazen act, with one person writing: "Looks like a full moon that night." Another added: "Nineteenth hole?". While a third added: "Best publicity the golf course has ever gotten. Everyone now knows about a golf course at Clarks Beach."

Luckily the New Zealand club had a sense of humour and saw the funnier side of things, which had been, quite literally, laid bare for all to see. Writing on its Facebook page, the club said: "After the giddying heights of viral marketing that has certainly put our golf club on the map... it's time to get down to business. It's our Annual General Meeting this Saturday at 10am, make sure you are there!"
