Chelsea have reportedly sent out scouts to keep tabs on their one-time youth player Jamie Bynoe-Gittens as he continues his rise with Borussia Dortmund this season.

According to German outlet Bild, a number of European sides are interested in his signature including Tottenham and Liverpool. The 20-year-old joined the German giants from Manchester City, two years ago.

After a stop-start time under former manager Edin Terzic owing to injuries last season, Bynoe-Gittens has broken into Nuri Sahin's regular starting XI. He has so far scored four goals in nine games in all competitions, including the Champions League, to underline his emergence on the biggest stage.

Prior to moving to the Etihad Stadium, the youngster spent time with Chelsea's youth system, before choosing to reject the Premier League club's offer to continue his development there. The London-born forward is said to have similar qualities to Jadon Sancho when he first moved to Dortmund from City.

The pair spent the second half of last season together at Signal Iduna Park, meanwhile, and Bynoe-Gittens said he has learnt 'a lot' from his compatriot.

"I've learned a lot from Jadon," Bynoe-Gittens previously stated. "For example... That I have to play with one or two touches more often, that I have to offer deeper runs more often.

"And when he plays, he enjoys himself. I've learned that, too. Jadon is a friend."

Bynoe-Gittens notched up a significant milestone last November when he netted his maiden Champions League goal in a decisive 3-1 victory against AC Milan, a pivotal moment that ensured Dortmund's progression through to the knockout stages of the marquee European competition.

The England Under-21s winger was in the City's academy alongside Cole Palmer - who also departed the reigning Premier League champions and has gone on to become one of the best players in the country.

Bynoe-Gitten is under contract at Dortmund until 2028 and is represented by Elite Project Group, who also boast the likes of Arsenal star Bukayo Saka and Sancho on their books.
