After the success of director Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” movie reboot in 2022, Warner Bros. and DC Studios produced a spinoff series surrounding the villain The Penguin that serves as a bridge to the sequel.
If you want to watch it online, “The Penguin” airs on HBO and streaming on Max starting on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. New episodes drop every Thursday at the same time until its season finale on Nov. 10.
How to Watch ‘The Penguin’ Online
While Max doesn’t offer a free trial, the streaming service starts at $9.99/month for the ad-supported plan. To go ad-free, prices jump up to $15.99/month or $19.99/month for ad-free programming in 4K Ultra HD.

Created by TV showrunner Lauren LeFranc, “The Penguin” takes place after the events of “The Batman” and follows Oswald “Oz” Cobb (Colin Farrell) trying to seize power in Gotham City’s criminal underworld after the death of the city’s premiere crime boss dies.
The series also stars Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, Clancy Brown, James Madio, Scott Cohen, Michael Zegen, Theo Rossi, Carmen Ejogo, Mark Strong and others.
