CAB to auction off luxury goods seized from criminals
by Paul Reynolds, https://www.facebook.com/rtenews/ · RTE.ieThe Criminal Assets Bureau is auctioning off over 130 high value, luxury and designer goods which it seized from criminals and partners as the proceeds of crime.
The items on sale include Hermes, Rolex and Breitling watches, Hermes and Gucci belts and shoes, cashmere scarves and a ladies Chinchilla coat.
It is also selling jewellery including 18ct yellow gold diamond rings, 9ct gold necklaces and a 9ct yellow gold bracelet, as well as Chanel sunglasses, Chanel and Louis Vuitton Handbags and passport covers and pairs of Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo shoes.
Novelty and unusual items for sale include collectible bank notes which are out of circulation, a Swarovski crystal bottle stopper and a Louis Vuitton Egg case.
The auction is being run for the Criminal Assets Bureau by Wilson's Auctioneers, who say all the items are being held in Dublin for collection.
They can be viewed online but prospective buyers must pre-register.
A refundable deposit of €1,000 is required to participate in the password-protected auction.
The minimum buyer's premium is €50 plus 23% VAT.
The auction opens on Friday 29 November at 1pm and closes on Monday 2 December at 1pm.
It is the second annual Criminal Assets Bureau auction after the one held last year made over €500,000.
